Why Your Role Matters

The Executive Assistant to the Vice-President Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement plays a critical role in supporting the success and impact of the Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (SIEE) at UNSW.

This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role. Working in a fast-paced, high-profile and strategically important environment, you will act as a trusted partner within a small, high-performing team supporting the Vice-President. Together with the VP’s Senior Advisor, you will help manage priorities, reduce executive cognitive load, and ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Office of the Vice-President.

You will bring a proactive mindset, anticipating needs, coordinating competing demands, and continuously identifying opportunities to improve how the office operates, while delivering high-quality executive support across complex calendars, communications and logistics. Your ability to build trusted relationships, exercise sound judgement, and collaborate effectively across the University and externally will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level, proactive executive support to the Vice-President, managing priorities and commitments in a complex environment.
  • Manage complex diaries, emails, meetings and communications with professionalism and discretion.
  • Prepare high-quality correspondence, presentations, briefing papers and reports with strong attention to detail.
  • Coordinate meetings and committees, including agendas, briefing materials, minutes and follow-up actions.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior leaders, Executive Assistants, University stakeholders and external partners.
  • Manage travel arrangements, finance administration and day-to-day office operations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, workflows and ways of working
  • Support projects, initiatives and other priorities as required.
