Indiana State University seeks a dynamic Executive Director of Residential Life to provide strategic and visionary leadership for a comprehensive residential program serving approximately 3,500 students across residence halls and university apartments.
Reporting to the Vice President for Student Experience and Engagement, this role positions the residential experience as a core driver of student engagement, learning, belonging, and persistence. The Executive Director leads a student-centered residential curriculum, oversees operations and fiscal management, partners on capital planning and facilities strategy, and collaborates broadly across campus and with community housing partners.

Required Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling or human resources, or related field and 10 or more years of experience or a Doctoral degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling or human resources, or related field with 7 or more years of experience.

Job Summary
The Executive Director of Residential Life provides strategic, operational, and visionary leadership for Indiana State University's comprehensive residential life program serving approximately 3,500 students across residence halls and university apartments. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Experience and Engagement, this role is central to advancing the University's mission and Strategic Plan by leveraging the residential experience as a primary driver of student engagement, learning, belonging, and persistence.
The Executive Director leads a student-centered residential program grounded in a curricular approach to the residential experience, intentionally aligning learning outcomes, community development, and student success initiatives with institutional priorities. This position provides executive oversight of residential operations, fiscal management, policy development, technology systems, and assessment, while collaborating closely with Facilities Management and Housing Facilities leadership on capital planning and infrastructure investments. The Executive Director also maintains strong partnerships across campus and with community housing partners to support a cohesive student living ecosystem.
