Job Summary: Performs administrative support for the Dean in the Fermanian School of Business (FSB) in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The External Relations Coordinator is an important role in fostering and maintaining relationships between the FSB and external stakeholders including alumni, advisory board members, corporate partners, and community organizations. This position works very closely with the deans, faculty and staff and should thrive in a collegial, student-focused environment.
Location: Point Loma Campus and other campus locations as needed
Salary: Pay range $24.90 - $26.89. Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate's experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

Responsibilities:
- Provide overall administrative support for the Dean and Associate Dean of External Relations, including processing invoices, completing expense reports, purchasing merchandise, maintaining records, manuals, and documents, and providing research support as necessary.
- Provide administrative assistance for meetings, including scheduling, making arrangements, agenda preparation, contacting participants, taking minutes, and follow-up.
- Develop and execute communication strategies to promote the FSB's initiatives, events, and achievements to key stakeholder groups, including digital flyers and other marketing materials as needed.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to engage stakeholder groups such as Alumni and Alumni Boards, Executives, Corporations, and Advisory Boards.
- Coordinate various calendars to ensure events and activities are managed effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, contacts, and interactions to assist in building and managing external relationships.
- Develop and implement social media plans, working with students, faculty, alumni, corporate partners, and others to identify opportunities to feature FSB and stakeholder accomplishments.
- Develop and collect content for distribution on social media platforms (photos, stories, ideas, etc.).
- Oversee the Social Media student worker to ensure thoughtful, mistake-free, and well-developed content.
- Maintain the FSB website and update content as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments, including University Advancement, Alumni Office, and Marketing as needed.
- Support the execution of events for key external stakeholders, including Alumni Events, Advisory Board Meetings, Corporate Visits, and other events as needed.
- Assist in the development of corporate education, including establishing and maintaining connections with corporate clients, developing marketing materials, and coordinating logistics for educational activities with corporate clients and faculty.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with organizations to support Internships, Mentors, Research Projects, and other opportunities as identified.
- Support the recruiting, training, and engagement of the Executives in Residence.
- Support the planning and implementation for the PLNU Innovation Workshop.
- Coordinate with the Dean and University Advancement to identify and cultivate potential donors and sponsors for the FSB.
- Support the Green4Gold initiative and develop communication plans to ensure a successful campaign.
- Assist in stewardship efforts by acknowledging and recognizing donors.
- Participate in various committees, workshops, and trainings. Provide administrative support to committees when requested.
- Facilitate communications between the FSB and departments across campus (Marketing, Alumni Office, University Advancement, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean and Associate Dean of External Relations.
Qualifications: Minimum three years of administrative, marketing, communications, external relations, alumni affairs, corporate partnerships or other related fields. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and credibility with stakeholders at all levels. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and G Suite is required. Proficiency in CRM software and social media platforms preferred. Ability to quickly learn and assist in the implementation of new software. Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the university. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a team player. Strong organizational skills, data-analytic skills, the ability to take initiative, work independently, make decisions, handle stress, maintain confidentiality of information, and dependability in follow-through. Ability to travel between multiple educational sites. Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant. Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred. The job offer is contingent on the successful completion of a background check. Physical Requirements: Sitting for periods greater than one hour. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, e-mail, and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day.
