Job Overview
The Department of Electrical Distribution is currently seeking a Facilities Automation Systems Engineer who will, under general supervision from a designated administrator, will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of controls. Provide support of plant personnel.
Essential Functions
- Review system design and programming performed by outside contractors.
- Maintain up to date documentation of all system installations including wiring diagrams, sequence of operations, and programs.
- Provide engineering of system networks.
- Develop and implement system wide alarm and user account management, capability, and associated tools.
- Initiate and accomplish systems diagnostic efforts for utility plant and campus operations.
- Replace failed system components and upgrade obsolete Programmable logic controller (PLC) components and instrumentation as directed.
- Coordinate the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of all makes and types of utility metering devices for the university.
- Investigate measurement-related complaints and correct malfunctions.
- Develop trend reports and review data to verify proper system operations.
- Complete utility projects as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree with three (3) years experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years experience; -OR- seven (7) years experience. Degree must be related.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Shift: Varies Starting Pay Rate: $43.23 per hour Post Probationary Rate: $43.23 per hour
