Faculty, Advanced Manufacturing
Responsible to prepare and deliver Advanced Manufacturing coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to success equity, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meets professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Department offers on campus, online, and dual credit courses across Central Texas. The department is currently initiating a course revitalization process to update its approach to manufacturing through the use of new state of the art equipment. Advanced Manufacturing partners with many local manufacturing companies to support their employment pipeline. In addition, the college has added a manufacturing prototype center (IMPACT lab) to assist emerging companies develop new products.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and teach courses in the field of Advanced Manufacturing to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
- Participate actively in departmental responsibilities and departmental governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes at the course and program level, and other departmental activities.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Serve as a mentor to students in the Advanced Manufacturing program.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
- Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities.
- Support division and department goals through active and collegial engagement in decision-making and unit-level planning.
- Serve on collegewide and departmental committees, councils, work groups, and task forces.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, and/or associate vice chancellor, vice chancellor, executive vice chancellor.
Additional Duties
- Candidate should possess knowledge, experience, and be qualified to teach in most of the following areas: Electronics, Automated Manufacturing, Materials and Processes, CNC Machining, Digital logic, Technical Drawing and other related courses.
Technology
- Experienced user of CAM software for creating CNC toolpaths
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom.
- Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, etc.).
Preferred Technology
- Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, Meshcam software

Required Education
In accordance with Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Electrical Engineering/Technology; or
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Electrical Engineer/Technology and three years non-teaching work experience.
SACSCOC requirements may differ depending on the courses taught within the discipline.
Required Work Experience
In accordance with Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements:
- Three (3) years of non-teaching, industry-related work experience is required for all candidates that do not hold a bachelor's degree in a related field.

- Understanding of what it means to teach in a community college environment that serves often underprepared and underserved students.

Salary Range
$63,444 - $94,871 (Based on a 10.5 month contract to start Fall 2025)
