Overview
The faculty will be responsible for providing educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning courses.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree in HVAC or a related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience that qualifies the individual to perform the functions of the position. Required
- Bachelor's Degree in HVAC or related discipline. Preferred
- Formal coursework in Education. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required
Experience
- Three (3) years of trade experience; OR, Journey or Master Plumbers License; OR, eligibility for interim teaching certificate. Required
- Professional teaching experience. Preferred
Abilities and Skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff and the public. Required
- Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff. Required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
- Developed organizational skills. Required
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required
Responsibilities
- Instruct and evaluate student performance in Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning courses.
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance.
- Provide coordination and supervision for instructional field projects.
- Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies.
- Complete official student rosters and return to school office as required.
- Supervise students in laboratory cleanup activities.
- Maintain office hours according to part time agreement.

- Attend school and department meetings as requested.

Pay Transparency
The part-time rate for 2026/27 will be the greater of $1180 per credit or $787 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $49.17 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.
