Cedar Crest College seeks a full-time Student Financial Services Counselors responsible for evaluating financial aid eligibility and awarding financial aid packages for students while ensuring that the College remains in compliance with state, federal and institutional polices and regulations with financial aid.
The Counselor is responsible for counseling current and new students & families while assisting them through the financial aid and billing process. The Counselor will complete verification, assess students who may have unusual or special circumstances using professional judgement, assist with the collection, management, and reporting of data, prepare routine and non-routine reports and may make recommendations regarding the data management systems and procedures. The Counselor will also assist in the research and review of regulations, polices and process assessments related to financial aid.
Cedar Crest is hiring two Counselor positions at this time.
The salary for this position is $45,000 annually.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is required along with one to two years of experience with financial aid, preferably in a higher education setting. Familiarity with database management software strongly preferred. The successful candidate must have strong organization and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, efficiency and confidentiality are also essential. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills are necessary for success as is the ability to provide exceptional customer service. Candidate must be able and available to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
