Remuneration: $95,981 to $108,257 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $81,105 to $91,478 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Finance Officer (2 positions) to join Finance Business Solutions, Chancellery Division.

The Finance Officer provides efficient and effective financial service delivery across QUT’s finance services, finance operations, transactional support and customer education ensuring timely, accurate and customer-focused support to Faculties, Divisions and other areas of the University on a day-to-day basis. These 2 roles are specifically within the Accounts Receivable Team. These functions include (but not limited to) accounts payable, accounts receivable, supplier maintenance, corporate card, finance processing, finance support, customer support and education.

Within the Chancellery, Finance Business Solutions (FBS) is responsible for a range of business functions to facilitate the ongoing financial and planning viability of the university in realising QUT’s strategic aims and objectives, whilst maintaining a customer centric approach when engaging with the university community, industry and government. What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training or experience equivalent to completion of a degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience in financial processing and support functions that could include accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial transactions and the provision of finance advice. Noting that these specific vacancies are within the AR team.
  3. Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply logical reasoning, operate methodically and resolve issues effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  4. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, work collaboratively, engage with clients and maintain confidentiality.
  5. Demonstrated digital literacy, including experience using large financial management systems (e.g., Oracle Financials) and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data handling and reconciliation.
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, managing competing priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Understanding of financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, or the demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge.
