Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Team Lead, Accounts Payable to join Finance Business Solutions, Chancellery Division.
The Team Lead, Accounts Payable will manage all aspects of the accounts payable function for QUT and ensure all payments are made in accordance with QUT policy and suppliers’ terms of business. The position will manage the day-to-day operation of the accounts payable team and ensure that deadlines are being met efficiently and effectively. The position plays an important role within Finance Services and is responsible for liaising with a broad range of academic, administrative and technical staff in divisions, faculties and portfolios. The Team Lead, Accounts Payable will liaise with staff across finance to all legislative and taxation requirements are beings met. The position looks after accounts payable which includes but not limited to invoice processing, payment claims, student payments, corporate cards, supplier onboarding and ensuring controls are in place across the function.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications in finance or a related business discipline or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience including experience in leading an accounts payable function.
- High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport, manage collaborative working relationships and engage with diverse client groups while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrated high level of business acumen, leadership and proven results in a complex business financial environment whilst working under pressure.
- Demonstrated high level skills in problem solving and implementing effective solutions, including the ability to operate logically and methodically with rigorous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated digital literacy including extensive experience in the operation of a large, computerised accounting system and complex financial reconciliations using spreadsheets and other software.
- Understanding of financial policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, and ability to contribute to their development and implementation.
