Position Summary

The Department of Restorative Dentistry invites qualified applicants for the Fixed and Removable Dental Technician position. The incumbent will:

• Fabricate complete and partial denture prostheses for edentulous and partially edentulous patients, including:
  • Creating dental casts from impressions; Arranging artificial teeth and waxing contours; processing and refining prostheses using heat-polymerized resin; performing repairs with autopolymerized resin and adapting clasps as needed.
• Assist in the fabrication of fixed prosthodontic restorations, including crowns, bridges, and implant-supported restorations using alloys, ceramics, and resin-based materials.
• Utilize digital dentistry technologies, such as CAD/CAM systems, digital impression scanning, and design software, to support the production of fixed and removable prostheses.

Minimum Qualifications

• Demonstrated manual dexterity that displays sound 3-D spatial and visual perceptions.
• Ability to read and write English to accommodate doctor’s prescriptions and work authorizations.
• Fluent understanding of laboratory terminology.
• Familiarity with digital dentistry tools (CAD/CAM systems, digital scanning, design software).
• Ability and willingness to follow detailed instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDT Certification
• Formal Technical Education (Harkness/ECC 2 yr)
• Teaching or training experience

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000
