FSU Student Employment-Capital Planning & Maintenance Summer Staff

Job Description

Support the maintenance department in daily summer cleaning operations of residential buildings, which may include:

• Sweeping
• Vacuuming
• Washing floors
• Dusting
• Trash removal

Perform inspections and checks of buildings and rooms to ensure furniture is in proper working condition.

Prepare and set up student rooms for the upcoming academic year.

Move and arrange furniture according to housing layouts and guidelines.

Support basic maintenance tasks and report any damages or needed repairs.

Follow instructions provided by maintenance leadership or their appointee.

Maintain cleaning equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Assist with setup and breakdown of common areas or rooms as needed.

Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns in a timely manner.

Provide general support to team members to ensure efficient workflow.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Capital Planning Custodial Services Manager.

Requirements

• Must be able to work well both in a team setting and individually
• Schedule availability must be flexible
• Must be a full time student at Fitchburg State University
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Additional Information

This is a part-time, non-benefited student only position, schedule varies up to 20 hours per week and the hourly rate is $15.00.
