Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for FUSE Student Researchers in Psychological Science on the Dahlonega campus. The position is seeking individuals to conduct animal cares and behavioral tests to explore an alternative treatment in anxiety and depression in animal models. The research assistant(s) will join the FUSE program to conduct focused and meaningful research, scholarly and creative activities alongside a faculty researcher from June 1 - July 24, 2026. This includes in-person workshops and group meetings once a week for the duration of the program.
Responsibilities
- Daily animals' cares and weekly cages changing.
- Preparing chemical agent.
- Animal behavioral testing.
- Data collection and analyses.
- Reporting results.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- SPSS software, Excel, APA formatting, and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of psychological, biological or neuroscience field.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on mice.
Required Qualifications
- Current UNG student not graduating before December 2026.
- Familiar with animal behavioral research.
- Certificates of CITI animal training.
Proposed Salary
$12.00 per hour
