Job Summary
The Accounting Intern in the Financial Aid Office supports the financial operations related to student aid programs. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance while assisting in the accurate processing and monitoring of financial aid funds.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling financial aid accounts and records
- Support the processing, tracking, and disbursement of student financial aid funds. Review financial documents for accuracy and compliance with institutional and federal guidelines. Help prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and audit documentation.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure proper allocation of scholarships, grants, and loans. Perform data entry and maintain organized financial records.
- Assist with internal audits and compliance checks
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in the minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
