FT Assistant Professor - Education
Job Summary
Teach courses in Education, consistent with current developments in the discipline and teaching methods. Participate in program/department meetings and divisional/college-wide committees with a focus on continual improvement of programs and learning outcomes. Participate in curriculum and course development, course and program coordination, tutoring and advising students, mentoring and reviewing peers, and College initiatives. Must demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Education (from a regionally accredited college or university), or a Master’s degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in a closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Education. Experience teaching in a post-secondary setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education, or a doctoral degree (from a regionally accredited college or university) in a closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Education. Teacher certification. Demonstrated continued professional development in Education. Two or more years of experience teaching elementary, middle, or high school. Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal changes in instruction and teacher preparation.
