FT Healthcare & Lifelong Learning Coordinator (Non-Credit)

Job Summary

To provide instruction for non-credit Healthcare and Lifelong Learning courses.

Principal Accountabilities

Certified Nurse Aide Instructor - Campus Wide

  • Faculty Support: Complete supply orders, Answer student questions/concerns, Coordinate state test applications (HHSC required)
  • HHSC Liaison: Coordinate with Administrative Authority and CNA Director regarding TULIP applications. NATECP renewals and updates
  • NATCEP Renewals and Changes: Review of CNA files for completion, Attend HHSC audit, Provide class details per HHSC guidelines, prepare student completion records before audit, arrange site visits for facility audit.

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

  • Instructor - Campus Wide
  • Faculty Support: Supply orders, student questions/concerns, NHA testing information to students with application codes, Lab support, Ensure students are registered for each section.

National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

  • Coordinate with students and instructors for NHA access and module set up, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate with NHA representative about any unresolved issues.

Phlebotomy

  • Faculty Support: Supply orders, student questions/concerns, prepare NHA testing information, distribute to students with application codes.

Pharmacy Technician

  • Assist instructor with any student questions or concerns.
  • Review requirements for registration.

Lifelong Learning

Plan and coordinate the delivery of leisure learning courses throughout the Blinn College District.

Other Duties

  • Healthcare Information Sessions: Review all Healthcare Information Sessions for accuracy, Coordinate update as needed with Administrative Assistant.
  • NHA Administrator for all programs (online and in person): Obtain quotes for NHA modules prior to the beginning of semesters, monitor and utilize inventory between campuses, monitor student progress with testing applications and completion scores, coordinate with NHA representative regarding pass rates and areas of improvement, attend NHA webinars to highlight areas for improvement.
  • Sentry MD Administrator - Contact updates for immunization requirements. Assist students with completion of requirements. Forward completion status to Monica for registration.
  • Precheck Administrator - Contact updates for background and drug screen requirements. Contact students as needed.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

  • Must have an Associate's degree or higher in nursing and 2 years of non-teaching work experience in the field, with at least 1 year in a long-term care facility.
  • Must be licensed as a registered nurse in Texas.
  • Must have experience or training teaching adult students or supervising nurse aides.

Minimum Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written skills for delivering complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard), Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records
  • Understanding how adults learn, including experience in curriculum design, student evaluation, and competency-based instruction.
  • Ability to teach and evaluate hands-on skills in labs or clinical settings.
  • Designing or updating coursework to meet current industry standards.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Experience with classroom, laboratory, and web-based delivery methods.

Preferred Qualifications / Preferred Competencies

Prior experience with adult learners, specifically in community college, vocational, or continuing education settings, is strongly preferred.

This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation
40 hours discretionary
16 hours personal
8 hours sick each month.
Paid leave for college designated holiday's, spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
