Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty - Program Director, Surgical Technology in the healthcare & Humans Services Surgical Technology & Sterile Processing Program.
Salary Range for this position is $87,926 - $104,132 (depending on experience).

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Executive Dean of Healthcare & Human Services the Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty - Program Director, Surgical Technology & Sterile Processing (ST/SP) will assume primary responsibility for the management & direction of the Surgical Technology & Sterile Processing programs along with instructional responsibilities. This includes teaching a minimum of one course per quarter, overseeing the planning, operations, and assessment of program facilities (i.e., labs and clinics), in conjunction with the Executive Dean supervising and coordinating the work of instructional staff, and working in a team with other program directors and program coordinators within the Healthcare & Human Services Division, and outside community partners. This position is responsible for implementing program policy.
This position is Full-time, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
This position works a hybrid schedule of both remote and on-site work.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT.

What you will be working on:
The Program Director must be responsible for all aspects of the program, including but not limited to:
- Administration, organization, supervision of the program; and
- Continuous quality review and improvement of the program; and
- Academic oversight, including curriculum planning and development.
- Teach Surgical Technology lecture and laboratory skills.
- Design and implement daily lesson activities that give students many opportunities to practice skills and knowledge that are appropriate to their level of training.
- Evaluate student achievement of theory and lab goals and objectives and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
- Provide regular and ongoing feedback to students in order to bolster student learning.
- Communicate all pertinent logistical information to students in a timely fashion.
- Monitor students in the lab environment.
- Assist students and ensure safety precautions are adhered to.
- Maintain student attendance in accordance with established policies.
- Prepare final evaluation and grades at the end of each course to update student records and transcripts.
- Communicate with the Surgical Technology program director/faculty coordinator on a regular and ongoing basis.
- Participate in continuing education, training, and departmental staff meetings on an ongoing basis.

What you bring as a candidate:
(Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- Possess a minimum of an Associate Degree
- Have documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning;
- Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
- Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
- Have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
