Full-Time Visiting Faculty Philosophy / Non-Tenure-Track
The Department of Philosophy at Brigham Young University announces a search for a candidate to fill a one-year full-time visiting / non-tenure-track position. The area of research and teaching specialization is open. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach six courses per year, including lower-division offerings in Philosophy that satisfy the university's general education requirements and courses in the candidate's area of specialization.
- Maintain a robust research agenda.
- Lend service in the department, college, and university, and contribute actively to the life of the department.
Documents required at the time of application: an updated curriculum vitae, writing sample, teaching dossier (including a statement of teaching philosophy and relevant course evaluation data), cover letter, and Mission Alignment Statement (see description below).

Must reside in the State of Utah if hired to be eligible for employment consideration, i.e. this position cannot be fulfilled remotely.

All faculty are required to abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards. Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of the affiliated church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.
