Job Summary:
As an important member of the GI community practice team, the Gastroenterologist will have clinical responsibilities including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital consultations, endoscopic procedures, and nights/weekends call coverage.
The gastroenterologist will primarily see outpatients at the UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital and Lone Tree Medical Specialty Clinic 5 days per week (3 half-days outpatient clinic, 5 half-days outpatient endoscopy). Additionally, they will provide inpatient GI consultative services and nights/weekends call coverage at Highlands Ranch Hospital up to 8 weeks per year in rotation with other members of the CU GI community practice group.
The successful applicant for this position will be someone who communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, staff, consultants, and colleagues, has outstanding customer service skills, and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and management of GI disorders within the scope of a general gastroenterologist including: GERD, Dysphagia, IBS/functional GI disorders, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Abnormal liver function tests, Pancreatitis, Occult iron deficiency anemia, GI motility disorders
- Interpretation of GI diagnostics including: Routine endoscopic procedures within the scope of a general gastroenterologist (polypectomy, treatment of upper/lower GI bleeding, endoscopic dilation), Capsule endoscopy interpretation, Wireless pH capsule placement (Bravo), Hydrogen Breath Testing
Work Location: Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO, Board certification in Internal Medicine, Board certification or active board eligibility in Gastroenterology, Colorado medical license, DEA license. (Varies slightly by rank)
Preferred Qualifications: Therapeutic Endoscopy training (ERCP, EUS) - All ranks, Experience with EMR like Epic, ACLS/BLS, post-graduate experience depending on rank.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Base Salary: Instructor: $300,000-350,000; Senior Instructor: $300,000-350,000; Assistant Professor: $300,000-$350,000; Associate Professor: $350,000-$375,000; Professor: $375,000-$425,000
Total Compensation (base + variable): $500,000 to $600,000
