GI Pathologist
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting for a GI surgical pathologist. Our surgical pathology division operates under a subspecialty model with shared call, requiring general surgical pathology knowledge and specialty training or expertise in GI pathology. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level (non-tenure track) and will handle responsibilities in surgical pathology. The laboratory processes approximately 60,000 surgical specimens per year. This position requires onsite work at a designated campus location.
Key responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, signing out surgical pathology cases, and contributing to the teaching mission. The role is in the School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, which focuses on patient care, research, and education.
Required qualifications: Unrestricted WI Medical License by start date; Board eligible or certified in anatomic pathology (AP) or AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology. Preferred: General surgical pathology with subspecialty in GI; for higher ranks, meet departmental criteria.
Education: MD or DO or equivalent. Compensation is negotiable on a 12-month basis with benefits.
