GI Pathologist
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is recruiting for an academic GI surgical pathologist. Our surgical pathology division operates under a subspecialty model with shared call, requiring general surgical pathology knowledge and specialty training/expertise in GI pathology. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level (non-tenure track) and will handle responsibilities in surgical pathology, including routine work and collaboration on clinical and translational research projects with UW Comprehensive Cancer Center groups. The laboratory processes approximately 60,000 surgical specimens per year, and the University of Wisconsin Medical Center is a tertiary care center with programs in cancer and transplantation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Sign out surgical pathology cases, contribute to teaching, and collaborate on translational research projects.
- Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health, working collegially with faculty.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
