Graduate Assistant - Introduction to Psychology
The School of Arts and Sciences seeks two graduate student teaching assistants to support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences and education to students taking the Introduction to Psychology course in the Fall 2025 semester. This is a remote position. Graduate teaching assistants will work 16-20 hours per week. The position duration is for one semester with the possibility of renewal.
- Grading Projects: The teaching assistants will be responsible for grading quizzes and assignments, ensuring timely and constructive feedback to students. This will involve assessing student understanding of key concepts and providing guidance for improvement.
- Administrative Support: The teaching assistants may be assigned additional administrative tasks to support the instructor in course preparation and management. This could include organizing course materials, managing online platforms, and/or assisting with communicating with students.
- Classroom Leadership: If interested, in addition to grading, the teaching assistants can lead select class meetings. This may involve facilitating discussions, presenting supplementary material, or leading group activities to enhance student learning.
Requirements
Required:
- Completed bachelor's degree in psychology or psychology-related discipline, or a minor in psychology
- Enrolled in a graduate program
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to use technology, Microsoft applications, and Blackboard
- Individuals intending to pursue a career in higher education are preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires sitting
- Must be able to type and manipulate a mouse/mouse pad
