Post Doctoral Associate
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Associate for the School of Public Health (SPH). We seek an exceptional candidate to collaborate on an NIH-funded quantitative study on the impact of homelessness and housing services on maternal and infant health. For this position, the candidate will work under the direct supervision of project principal investigators (PIs) Drs. Mark McGovern and Dan Treglia; and will join a growing research team at the SPH and Center for State Health Policy with a strong publication and funding track record. The project will have a strong focus on health equity, with the goal of using advanced quantitative methods to identify how housing policy can be used to address health disparities.
Under direction of the PIs, the postdoc will lead data management and analysis of a linked administrative dataset comprised of New Jersey birth and hospital records, Medicaid claims, and housing service records. The postdoc will also implement quasi-experimental and causal inference methods in these data, assemble and summarize relevant literature, and will be encouraged to develop their own independent research program in maternal and child health and/or housing and homelessness policy. There will be opportunities for authorship on publications, presentation at national and international conferences, teaching, and collaboration on grant proposal development.
The position will have a start date between January and July 2026, depending on the needs of the project and the chosen candidate. Initial term of appointment is two years contingent on performance and is renewable contingent on continued funding and continued satisfactory performance.
Duties include:
- Manage databases, develop analytical plans, and carry out statistical analysis for manuscripts, reports, and presentations using Stata (preferred) or R.
- Lead, draft, and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Give oral presentations to disseminate research findings
