Graphic Design Assistant (Part-Time)

Overview

This part-time graphic designer creates print and digital materials that communicate the PPPL's mission with clarity and impact. This role develops high-quality designs for reports, brochures, event collateral, social media, web, and digital displays, ensuring consistency with brand standards and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Design and produce annual publications (e.g., reports).
  • Develop branded collateral for internal and external use.
  • Assist with slide deck design and creation.
  • Support web design on key projects.
  • Create graphics for social media, digital signage and presentations.
  • Ensure materials align with brand standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2+ years of professional design experience, preferably across both print and digital media.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with web design tools (e.g., Drupal, WordPress, or something similar).
  • Experience producing branded collateral, publications, and digital assets for multiple platforms.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, attention to detail, and adherence to brand standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, and layout for both print and digital media.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and basic web design tools (e.g., WordPress, Canva, or Figma).
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals that align with brand identity.
  • Knowledge of file formats, printing processes and digital production standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and consistency in design execution.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively, incorporating feedback effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to partner with clients across different functions.

This is a part-time remote position.
