Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

• Equipment One-year experience in the operation of medium to heavy power grounds equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
• One-year experience in the operation of medium to heavy power grounds equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
• Ability to properly and safely operate power driven equipment (e.g., trencher, back hoe, forklift, jackhammer, crane), as well as various hand tools (Required)
• Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues. (Required)
• Skills in reading standard English text in order to follow through on written orders and carry out assignments. (Required)
• Oral communication skills to obtain or convey clear, concise, and grammatically correct information. (Required)
• Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload, frequent interruptions and/or distractions, deadlines or emergency repairs. (Required)
• Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments. (Required)
• Working knowledge of standard safe work practices. (Required)
• Ability to stand, crawl, walk and stoop; push and pull, lift or lower objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to push and pull, lift or lower objects weighing up to 80 lbs., with assistance. Ability to work outdoors, in wet or humid weather, and in fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures. (Required)
• Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies and overtime as required. Ability to work weekends. (Required)
• Working knowledge of proper methods in planting shrubs and trees. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

• Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles. (Required)
• Forklift Certification 100 (Required)
• Backhoe Certification 100 (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment

• Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
• Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
• Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
• Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
