Responsibilities: Delta State University is a proud NCAA Division II member institution. The Head Coach will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive programs and all related coaching functions. Duties include but are not limited to: recruiting, practice and competition preparation, student-athlete development, academic monitoring, staff supervision, alumni relations, budget management, program operations, facility and inventory management, and fundraising. The Head Coach will need to maintain American Red Cross, YMCA, or the equivalent certifications in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety, Water Exercise, and CPR/FA/AED as well as a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. At least three to five years of coaching experience, preferably collegiate. Facility management experience preferred. Certified Pool Operator with knowledge of state and national health and safety standards and regulations associated with the operation of a public swimming pool. The qualified candidate should have demonstrated strong leadership skills, ability to recruit highly motivated and qualified student-athletes, excellent written and verbal communication skills, success in teaching the sport, competence in organizing and motivating student-athletes, and fiscal responsibility.
Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
