The College of St. Scholastica seeks qualified candidates for adjunct field and student teaching supervisor positions in the Education Programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Education field supervisors are essential to St. Scholastica’s teacher preparation programs, serving as the liaison between the College and the K12 school system. Effective supervisors are interested in fostering a supportive and collaborative approach to mentoring new teachers.
We are seeking applicants with prior tenure and extensive K-12 teaching and administrative experiences in the following areas:
- K-6 Elementary Education
- K-12 Spanish
- K-12 Music
- 5-12 Communication Arts and Literature
- 5-12 Life Science
- 5-12 Chemistry
- 5-12 Social Studies.
- 5-12 Mathematics

Job Qualifications:
The candidate must hold or have held a professional license aligned to the scope or field relevant to one of the following licenses: K-6 Elementary Education, K-12 Spanish, K-12 Music, 5-12 Communication Arts and Literature, 5-12 Life Science, 5-12 Chemistry, 5-12 Social Studies, or 5-12 Mathematics.
Must have at least five years of experience as a teacher of record; or is or was an E-12 administrator with documented experience in teacher evaluation. Has completed or is willing to complete professional development in coaching strategies for adult learners.
Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills, multicultural competency, and experience interacting effectively with diverse constituents.
Familiarity with digital technology to support or conduct virtual field/student teaching observations.
Job Requirements
- Flexibility and day time travel required
- Attend and complete coaching and mentoring supervisor training as required by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) MN.
- Attend Field experience course sessions to meet assigned students and become familiar with each field course's expectations.
- Attend regular field supervision meetings -approximately 2-3 meetings per year.
- Schedule and complete required collaborative meetings with each assigned student, their cooperating teacher, and site administrator (if needed) early in the experience and as needed
- Regular and explicit communication with students, cooperating teachers, program directors, and others
- Conduct field or student teaching observation visits per assigned students during a designated term/semester.
- Provide actionable feedback, support, coaching, and guidance to education students/students teaching before and after lesson observations.
NOTE: This is a stipend-based position; Education Field Supervisor stipends are calculated based on the number of students assigned and the number of observations expected per course.
