Unit: School Of Pharmacy MBU

Department: Medicinal Chemistry (Pharmacy)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Organize and maintain laboratory space and inventory
• Prepare buffers and solutions
• Assist with protein purification
• Availability to work weekends as needed

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of science degree or equivalent degree or experience in the sciences, or technical program such as sciences or social science, etc.
• Previous laboratory experience, particularly in molecular biology and/or laboratory maintenance or management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest or experience in protein production and/or laboratory management or maintenance
• Self-motivated
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s of science degree or equivalent degree or experience in the sciences, or technical program in science or social science-related fields

Salary Range: $30 per hour

FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hours per Week: 29
