HPM Executive Producer

Description: Oversees Houston Public Media (HPM) strategy execution of news on all platforms, ensuring collaborative and effective news coverage and marketing. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
- Assigns and schedules crew personnel required for productions.
- Directs and assists crew in lighting studio and location productions.
- Manages studio facility, including researching and recommending purchase of new and replacement lighting and miscellaneous support equipment, maintains accurate inventories of equipment and supplies, and implements the repair and maintenance schedule for the equipment.
- Attends site surveys and meetings to assist in logistical planning of studio and remote productions.
- Coordinates with personnel from other departments, as well as external organizations, to engage special support services as required.
- Provides for the training and development of operations personnel.
- Assists in the scheduling and maintenance for vehicles assigned to the station.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
