  • Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $85,778 – $97,006 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

The Opportunity

As the HR Operations Officer, you will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of HR services across Western Sydney University. You will be the first point of contact for a wide variety of Tier 1 HR enquiries, providing staff with timely, professional and clear support across channels including phone, ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams and email.

Working as part of the HR Operations team, you will process a broad range of HR transactions across onboarding, pay and entitlements, visa and mobility tasks, WHS procedures, leave management and casual academic administration. A strong focus on data accuracy, compliance and service excellence sits at the heart of this role.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements, maintaining accurate employee records, preparing employment documentation and escalating more complex matters as required. Your work ensures a seamless and consistent experience for staff across the University.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Delivering accurate, timely processing of HR transactions across onboarding, WHS, visa and mobility, leave and payroll preparation.
  • Providing responsive frontline support that resolves Tier 1 enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintaining high levels of data accuracy and compliance within HR systems.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure HR service expectations are consistently met.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • You bring experience in HR administration or operational support within a fast-paced environment.
  • You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, with a strong customer-focused approach.
  • You can manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms, with the ability to apply HR policies and procedures accurately.
