We are seeking a collaborative and values-driven professional to join us as Coordinator, Indigenous Workforce, to help strengthen the attraction, recruitment, retention, and progression of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees. Your work will help build a culturally safe and inclusive environment across multiple campuses.
Under the direction of the Director, Office of Indigenous Engagement, you will coordinate the development and delivery of programs and initiatives that support and advance the University’s First Nations Workforce Strategy. This is an opportunity to influence meaningful, system-level change to embed effective Indigenous employment practices. This includes analysing policies, advising on improvements, and coordinating initiatives that open pathways and support professional development.

Position Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of strategic HR initiatives, contemporary employee and industrial relations, and best‑practice workforce planning and recruitment approaches that strengthen Indigenous employment outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in human resources, workforce strategy, or related fields, including delivering targeted workforce or diversity initiatives.
- Proven ability to coordinate and implement workforce programs, translate strategic priorities into practical actions, monitor progress, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Strong capability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders, applying cultural knowledge effectively in professional contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice, prepare reports and briefings, and communicate sensitively on Indigenous workforce matters.
- High‑level analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to interpret data and develop practical, evidence‑based solutions.
- Postgraduate qualifications (or progress toward them) and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (Desirable).
