Position Description
By the start of the internship program, applicants should have completed their graduate-level coursework. Incumbents participate in an internship program emphasizing clinical child and pediatric psychology and focusing on evidence-based services. This training experience will occur within an innovative, stepped-care model that includes outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization services, all housed within one newly developed, state-of-the-art location. Doctoral interns work with diverse clinical presentations and low-income, ethnically and culturally diverse families who are largely underserved. Clinical services and training activities are conducted in person and via telehealth. Both brief and longer-term interventions are available in group and individual formats. Doctoral interns work collaboratively with a team of providers and are actively involved in research, clinical teaching, and the administration of treatment programs by performing the following duties. Major/Essential Functions
The internship program has an emphasis on clinical child and pediatric psychology and focuses on evidence-based services. This training experience will occur within an innovative, stepped-care model that includes:
- Outpatient, intensive outpatient, and crisis stabilization services, all of which are housed within one newly-developed, state-of-the-art location.
- Doctoral interns work with diverse clinical presentations and low-income, ethnically and culturally diverse families who are largely underserved.
- Clinical services and training activities are conducted in person and via telehealth. Both brief and longer-term interventions are available in group and individual formats.
- Doctoral interns work collaboratively with a team of providers and are actively involved in research, clinical teaching, and supervision.
- Administer and interpret assessments and measures.
- Develop treatment plans, in accordance with established standards, consistent with assessment, and in conjunction with patients and family, to include goals, intervention, necessary support or referral service.
- Lead evidence-based individual, family, and group psychological interventions with child/adolescent patients (and their caregivers).
- Identify patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.g., suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and make appropriate referrals as needed.
- Consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of providers.
- Maintain communication (verbal and written) with caregivers, school personnel, primary care providers, etc.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation of assessments, interventions, recommendations, and discharge plans.
- Adhere to ethical and legal requirements.
- Attend weekly supervision and maintain communication with clinical supervisor.
- Complete a scholarly activity (e.g., poster or manuscript submission, conference talk, quality improvement project, program development proposal, etc.).
- Participate in weekly didactics.
- Update monthly productivity reports.
- Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, supervision, meetings, and workshops.
- Follow policies and procedures of the program, department, and institution.

Preferred Qualifications
- Be enrolled in and in good standing in an accredited (American Psychological Association or Canadian Psychological Association) doctoral program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent; three years of supervised experiential training in professional psychology skills (with a minimum of 400 intervention and 100 assessment hours).
