Job Description
The College of Pharmacy (COP) is looking for an HR Generalist II to support a broad range of human resource functions. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position will be responsible for providing outstanding service and support to faculty and staff regarding human resources policies, procedure, classification, recruitment, hiring, payroll, visas, benefits, leave and general employee support. This position will resolve routine issues as well as more complex and unusual issues pertaining to Human Resources.
Duties include:
- General HR support: Provide general HR support to College of Pharmacy employees, including guidance and assistance regarding human resources policies and procedures. Maintain personnel files for all employees in the college. Assist with general benefits questions. Conduct exit interviews and process terminations. Process approved job changes. Comply with federal, state, and University policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Recruitment: Responsible for managing assigned recruitments for College of Pharmacy positions by creating job descriptions and posting job requisitions, creating screening and interview rubrics, reviewing applications, pre-screening applicants via SparkHire, attending all interviews as HR representative and issuing evaluations post interview. Perform employment verifications, reference checks, and background screenings. Partner with hiring managers to ensure a fair search process that provides candidates with an exceptional COP experience. Assist all new employees (Faculty, TEAMS, OPS, Student Assistants, Graduate Assistants, etc.) with the hiring and onboarding process. Collaborate on processes to ensure effective employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Performance Management: Responsible for tracking probationary and semi-annual staff evaluations and communicating with staff and supervisors to ensure completion of self-assessments and manager evaluations. Escalate performance concerns to Director of HR as needed.
- Postdoc Development Tracking: Responsible for managing the post doc development plan and annual review cycles based on contract start dates. Manage raises based on the NIH scale as part of the annual review process.
- Payroll & Leave: Assist all employees with timesheet entry and errors. Approve payroll, processes On-Cycles, Prior 60's and Emergency Checks as needed. Responsible for review and completeness of various reports, including Preliminary and Final Payroll Listing, and maintenance of records according to records retention regulations. Process additional payments, run distribution reports, and answer all other payroll/distribution questions as needed. Process applicable paperwork for leave cash outs, FMLA and Leave requests.
- Immigration Sponsorship and Compliance: Assist in the sponsorship of foreign national visitors by processing visas such as J-1, H1B, and any others as needed. Responsible for tracking visa end dates and reverifying I-9s as necessary in order to assist in compliance.
Expected Salary
$55,000-$65,000
