Human Resources Technician 1 - Talent Acquisition Coordinator
Metro State University, Minnesota's public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire a Talent Acquisition Coordinator. This is a full-time, probationary position within the Human Resources Department.
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Talent Management Team, including the Director of Talent Management and the Talent Acquisition Specialist. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness of talent acquisition and broader HR operations. The Coordinator supports all stages of the recruitment and onboarding process, manages critical administrative workflows, maintains documentation and tracking systems, and serves as a central point of coordination for internal and external stakeholders. In addition to supporting the Talent Management Team, this position provides high-level administrative assistance to the larger Human Resources Department. The Coordinator helps streamline processes, supports department-wide initiatives, and contributes to a positive and professional experience for candidates, employees, and campus partners. This role is essential to maintaining organized, timely, and compliant HR operations and enhancing the overall effectiveness of Talent Acquisition for Metro State University. The incumbent will have access to documents/data containing labor relations information as defined by M.S. 13.37.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of administrative, clerical, or customer-service experience that includes working with data entry, recordkeeping, or office systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document processing.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email, calendars).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to provide courteous, professional customer service to employees, applicants, and internal partners.
- Ability to follow established procedures and apply basic HR policies and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in a human resources environment is preferred but not required.
- Experience using HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), or payroll systems.
- Associate's degree.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work): Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
