Senior Product Manager - Craft Education
Job Description
Come make an impact with the future of Craft
As a Senior Product Manager in the Craft Education Division of WGU, you will own Craft's reporting and analytics products-built on ThoughtSpot-which help apprenticeship programs stay compliant, see whether learners are on track, where retention is breaking down, and where to intervene
Working with a high level of autonomy and in close partnership with product leadership, you will shape the medium- and long-term vision for reporting and analytics, lead discovery with both internal teams (Customer Success, Sales, Research) and the external program administrators, employers, and learners who consume embedded reports inside the platform, and drive initiatives end-to-end from research through delivery.
This is a role for someone who can move independently on strategy and execution while staying tightly aligned with leadership on the decisions that matter most.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with product leadership to shape product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned to both near-term priorities and long-term goals
- Own key product initiatives end to end, from customer research and ideation through execution and delivery
- Lead discovery by conducting in-depth customer research and synthesizing insights into actionable, well-developed product recommendations
- Present clear options, tradeoffs, and recommendations to support informed product decisions
- Collaborate closely with engineering, data, and technical partners to translate ideas into feasible, high-quality solutions
- Manage internal and external stakeholders by filtering feedback and aligning client needs with broader product strategy
- Lead and participate in agile ceremonies, driving rapid iteration while maintaining alignment with leadership
What You'll Bring
- Ability to work confidently and independently in ambiguous problem spaces while collaborating closely with stakeholders on major decisions
- Strong customer research skills with a demonstrated ability to translate insights into product improvements and solutions
- Technical fluency that enables effective collaboration with engineering and technical teams, including asking thoughtful questions and evaluating proposed solutions
- Experience owning features or initiatives across the full product lifecycle
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Comfort balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
Bonus Points
- Data & Analytics Product Sense: You can own a reporting and analytics product without living inside the BI tool day-to-day. You'll direct analytics engineers and partner with data teams-asking the right questions about data models, query patterns, and dashboard design, and assessing proposed solutions from a product-value perspective. You bring rigor around testing and validation, recognizing that a report that's elegant but wrong is worse than no report at all. Familiarity with modern data stacks is preferred.
- Dual-Audience User Empathy: This product serves two populations: internal teams who rely on reporting to understand product utilization and customer health, and external users who consume embedded reports to monitor their apprenticeship program and meet their own reporting obligations. You're comfortable doing discovery with both, recognizing their needs, vocabulary, and tolerance for complexity differ. Experience with embedded analytics is strongly preferred; experience with regulated reporting (RAPIDS, WIPS, accreditation, healthcare, finance) is a meaningful plus.
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management: You'll work daily with Customer Success, Sales, and Research-teams that surface operational needs and channel external user feedback into the product. You're skilled at evaluating which requests reflect genuine end-user needs versus internal preference, balancing competing demands, and saying no without damaging relationships.
