Job Summary
Oversee the operation of the
Hunziker Campus, which includes facility management, scheduling of credit and non-credit offerings, and leadership for site implementation
of concurrent enrollment for both CTE and general education programming in the Campus’ geographic area. Serve as liaison to the Greater
Ames/Story county community.
Essential Functions
Lead the DMACC Hunziker site. This includes collaborating with
Executive Academic Deans, Associate Deans, Non-Credit, and DMACC Business Resources on scheduling for credit and non-credit programming and
management of the Hunziker facility. This position will be charged with supporting the implementation of the CTE/General Education Career
Advantage offerings within the assigned Ames geographic area. Oversee daily/evening management and operation of the Center for all
programming. Participate in college committees and cross-functional teams to support DMACC. Travel to schools within the assigned area for
purposes of program support.
Assess and initiate programming and services in cooperation with local public and private agencies,
school districts and other community contacts in collaboration with the college community, including DMACC Business Resources and Continuing
Education to support growth across credit and non-credit offerings. Represent DMACC in an outreach and marketing capacity. Represent the
site and promote programs and services in the community and with area secondary schools. Serve as the Site liaison with area educational
administrators, community members, and local businesses and service organizations. Develop and present strategies for outreach, enrollment,
and services. Serve on community boards and committees to represent the College’s commitment to local economic and cultural growth.
Supervise center staff. Collaborate with Executive Academic Deans and Associate Academic Deans on recruiting, hiring, and staffing center
programs. Recommend personnel actions related to hiring, firing, compensation, performance evaluation, individual development plans,
training, leave, discipline, grievances, work schedules and assignments; administer personnel and related policies and procedures,
collective bargaining agreements and the EEO/AA plan. Mediate faculty-student meetings when necessary. Assist faculty with classroom issues,
student concerns, policies and procedures and administrative processes.
Develop, recommend for approval and manage budgets. Oversee
purchase and usage of properties and materials. Negotiate contractual agreements with agencies and businesses for educational services.
Collaborate with Grants Department to pursue, secure, and administer local, state, and federal grant funding. Ensure compliance with
regulations, program integrity and safety and security.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, career/technical education, student personnel, adult education, or related
area. - Four years professional experience in an educational setting in student services or teaching including two years in an
administrative or leadership role. - Demonstrated competency in budget planning and management.
- Demonstrated ability to
promote collaboration, teamwork and partnerships with internal and external constituents. - Strong communication and human relation
skills. - Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse
values, and /or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds. - Experience with mediation and conflict resolution or judicial
affairs. - Knowledge of current software applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive
community college philosophy.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience delivering noncredit ELL
programming. - Experience delivering HiSET programming.
- Experience development, obtaining and administering local, state or
federal grants, or other sources of funding. - Experience developing new products (program courses, curriculum) in an educational
setting. - Community college experience.
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English.
