Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a lead worker and technical expert within a mechanical trade discipline and work unit.
  • Guides, directs and coaches Junior technicians regarding troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Has a thorough and extensive knowledge of refrigeration and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use building automation system (BAS) to troubleshoot and make adjustments to HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use computer software for work order management.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • Graduation from a technical college with an Associate degree in electromechanical technology, instrumentation technology, science or engineering technology, and four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience, is required
  • Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to act as a lead technician and provide guidance to other technicians.
  • Proven track record in facilities preferred.
  • Effective skills in verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge and skill with Google E-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
  • Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
