The home campus for this position is flexible to include Bloomsburg, Lock Haven or Mansfield.
Under the direction of the Director of Instructional Technology, the Instructional Technology Specialist supports and promotes the effective use of instructional technology in higher education at Commonwealth University of PA, with an emphasis on providing in-classroom support and training to support multi-modality instruction.
Duties:
- Manages Commonwealth Academic Technology and Support (CATS) in-classroom support, including hiring, scheduling, evaluating, and managing graduate assistant and student worker staff; providing resources and technical assistance; providing instructional advice; resolving problems; assisting with design and selection of learning environments; communicating changes in instructional technology to end users.
- In collaboration with the Director of Instructional Technology establishes and implements policies and procedures related to coordination of instructional technology needs on campus in the classroom.
- Explores, promotes, pilots, and implements new instructional technology to support organizational instructional needs.
- Provides input and recommendations for technology inclusion and layout in classrooms for new buildings and renovations.
- Designs, develops, and facilitates training opportunities, materials, tutorials, and other documentation for instructional technology and strategies.
- Assists CATS with instructional systems, and testing and support of those systems.
- Collaborates with CATS, CTL, Office of Technology, and PASSHE colleagues to support special projects and technology implementations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in technology, instruction, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in technology, instruction, or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience. - Experience developing and delivering training and support materials.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
