Founded in 1971 and situated in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, the College of Southern Nevada is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and the first to receive the HSI designation. Job Description
Under Direction of the CSN Accounting Department Chair, successful applicants will support the mission of the Nevada System of Higher Education, and the College of Southern Nevada.
Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching assignments will be designed to prepare students for certification in areas of emphasis such as Financial, Managerial, Tax Accounting, and other accounting courses.
- Participation in student advisement, recruitment activities, assessment of Student Learning Outcomes, and Program/Curriculum Development will be essential.
- Serving on Department, School, and Collegewide Committees along with other duties as assigned will be required.
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce and student body.
- Desire to reach out to the local community, business sector including collaboration with CCSD. Interested in enhancing self-growth via internal and external courses, and seminars using learning management systems.
- Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day/evening and/or weekend classes.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration from a regionally accredited College/University.
Preferred Qualification
- Ph.D. in Accounting
- CPA and/or CFE Professional Certification
Starting Salary Information
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a master's degree, the salary range would be $46,691 to $59,768 annually. The entire salary range is up to $71,123 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years of experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
