Instructor/Clinical Coordinator - Radiography
Job Duties
The Clinical Coordinator/Instructor coordinates all aspects of student clinical placement. This involves communicating and maintaining relationships with community healthcare agencies to arrange student clinical experiences to meet course clinical objectives as well as developing a timely, effective student schedule of didactic, lab, and clinical sessions. The Clinical Coordinator also works to continuously improve scheduling and curriculum effectiveness, orients, evaluates and mentors adjunct/clinical faculty, maintains records of clinical requirements of faculty and students, and provides instruction of didactic and clinical classes in all disciplines. The Coordinator teaches in the program as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Dean.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the following Professional Behaviors: Demonstrates proper respect for students, and has student-friendly manner in the conduct of class. Regular and reliable attendance. Teaches to course learning objectives on an as needed basis. Works effectively as part of the overall faculty team demonstrating positive interpersonal relations, collaborating with other faculty members to meet student needs, participating in faculty meetings and program committees and responding to requests from management. Provides meaningful input into strategic and fiscal planning.
- Assist the Program Coordinator with seeking out and recommending new affiliation agreements and innovative partnerships. Promotes a positive image and reputation of the program in the classroom, academic community, healthcare community and community at large. Networks to establish contacts with employers and potential clinical partners in the community.
- Serve as liaison between the program(s) and clinical practicum sites: Communicate with officials at potential and established clinical sites. Manage affiliation agreements. Set up clinical and practicum rotations for radiography students as needed and: Evaluates each clinical site for its appropriateness for meeting student learning needs, course outcomes, and program outcomes in collaboration with the Program Coordinator and faculty. Coordinate student and faculty orientation meetings, annually, and as soon as possible notify students and/or faculty of any changes made to their assignments. Review clinical curriculum, competencies and develop clinical evaluation tools. Provide the clinical sites with schedules, evaluation forms, student documentation. Orient, mentor, and evaluate clinical faculty. Manage student clinical learning experiences and evaluation of student achievement, under the direction of the Program Coordinator; Provide clinical instruction to students and evaluate clinical performance using approved tools. Assist clinical faculty in addressing students' abilities to assume clinical assignments, including, but not limited to, educational preparedness and physical, mental, and emotional behaviors. Conduct routine visits to the clinical sites to observe and document the clinical faculty and students to assess if objectives are being met and the clinical facilities satisfaction with faculty and students' performance.
- Faculty Development and Program Support: Be responsible for working with the designated Program Coordinator to provide enrolled students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives. Present course material in an enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear manner. Instruct both on-campus and hybrid formats through the use of Blackboard Learning Management System. Plan and teach both classroom and lab activities in all discipline areas that are consistent with the course syllabus as well as labs that are concurrent with the lectures. Provides emergency coverage of didactic and clinical classes when the original instructor is unavailable; Continually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving, and decision-making. Provide students with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework, and projects. Assist the Program Coordinator with program review and evaluation of program effectiveness. Keep adequate and accurate records of student academic performance including but not limited to the grades and attendance of students. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or the Dean.

As assigned.
Working Conditions
Work hours may vary daily and evening and weekend hours may be required, depending on the staffing needs of the school's lab. Travel is required.

Positions in this class typically require: ability to use a keyboard, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
