Instructor II or III, Master of Marriage and Family Therapy Program
The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) Program in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor II or III (depending on qualifications). The MMFT program is accredited by the Canadian Association for Couple & Family Therapy (CACFT-ACTCF) and offers an applied clinical master’s degree. The MMFT program has a strong focus on rigorous clinical training, diversity and social justice, and self-of-the-therapist development.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be to serve as a core faculty member in the MMFT program, teach MFT courses at the graduate level, provide clinical supervision, advise students, and contribute to the Program/Faculty/University/larger community including potentially carrying a small caseload. We are looking for a team player who comes with their own passion for the work, values a collaborative and collegial environment, and will help achieve the Program’s mission and goals.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a Master’s degree (minimum) in Marriage & Family Therapy or related field
- Be a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist (RMFT) with CACFT
- Have experience providing clinical supervision to students at the graduate level
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Have experience teaching relevant subjects at the graduate level
- Demonstrate commitment to systemic/relational clinical work, self-of-the-therapist development, and social justice, and able to hold a complex awareness of the intersections of all three.
Preferences will be given for candidates who:
- Have leadership experience in clinical settings
- Hold CACFT Approved Supervisor status, or Supervisor Mentor status
- Have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the MMFT Program at the University of Winnipeg
- Have experience with service activities in a university environment
Subject to budgetary approval, the appointment will take effect on August 1, 2026, or as soon afterward as possible. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
