Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Human Services offers a M.S degree accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. Wright State University and the Human Services Department are dedicated to building on and expanding on the strengths of diverse student, faculty, and staff populations. Student development programs include a Trauma-Informed Counseling and Addictions Certificate programs.
The Counselor Education program area includes four CACREP-accredited programs. This includes Master's programs in School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Teach 24 semester hours (8 courses) in Human Services over a two-semester academic year. The appointment would begin the fall 2026 semester and is renewable.
Minimum Qualifications
Instructor: Master's degree in mental health, school, or rehabilitation counseling or terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. Successful candidates for this position must have at least 1 year of experience working as a school counselor (LSC) in a K-12 educational setting or as a professional counseling experience (LPC).
Lecturer: Master's degree in mental health, school, or rehabilitation counseling or terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. Successful candidates for this position must have at least 5 years of experience working as a school counselor (LSC) in a K-12 educational setting and/or professional counseling experience (LPC).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling
Essential Functions and percent of time
- 80% - Teach 24 semester hours in the graduate Clinical Mental Health Counseling curriculum and School Counseling Curriculum
- 10% - Service
- 10% - Graduate students advising
