Burris Laboratory School at Ball State University welcomes applications for an Instructor of Elementary Education. This role includes overseeing individualized programming, supporting diverse learning needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Responsibilities also involve maintaining ongoing communication with families and Burris partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates engaging, effective lesson and unit plans aligned to current Indiana Standards
- Demonstrates mastery of content knowledge, instructional strategies and curriculum
- Implements effective differentiated instruction
- Assesses student progress and provides feedback
- Directs pre-service teachers, instructional assistants and volunteers
- Monitors students in a variety of educational settings
- Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff
- Participates in professional development and meetings
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution by date of appointment; hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana teaching certification in Elementary Education
- At least one semester teaching, or student teaching experience in an elementary school
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in elementary education from an accredited university
- At least three years of experience teaching at the primary level
