Burris Laboratory School at Ball State University welcomes applications for an Instructor of Elementary Education.

This role includes overseeing individualized programming, supporting diverse learning needs, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Responsibilities also involve maintaining ongoing communication with families and Burris partners. We are seeking a candidate who is dedicated to supporting the school's vision and mission.

Compensation/salary is determined and based upon relevant experience and highest degree earned, with a salary range of $48,500-$74,312.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Creates engaging, effective lesson and unit plans aligned to current Indiana Standards that drive instruction and include prior assessment data, objectives, allocating an instructionally appropriate amount of time, designing meaningful and relevant assignments, and assessments created before the unit for backwards planning.
  2. Demonstrates mastery of content knowledge, instructional strategies and curriculum used for courses taught.
  3. Implements effective differentiated instruction to provide an effective classroom program and meet the needs of individual students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution by date of appointment; hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana teaching certification in Elementary Education.
  • At least one semester teaching, or student teaching experience in an elementary school.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in elementary education from an accredited university.
  • At least three years of experience teaching at the primary level; evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies; evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with special needs and/or high ability.
