Emporia State University’s (ESU) School Psychology graduate program in Emporia, Kansas seeks applications for a non-tenure track multi-year appointment(up to three years) as an instructor or assistant teaching professor, to begin Fall 2025.

The ESU School Psychology program is a well-established 60-credit-hour MS+EdS hybrid program accredited by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). In addition to our traditional MS+EdS program, we offer a respecialization program for those with graduate degrees and licensures in fields related to school psychology. We are a flexible hybrid program targeting both traditional and nontraditional students. Core assessment courses are offered in an intensive format on the ESU campus, with other courses offered online.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position emphasizes teaching and training of school psychology graduate students. Responsibilities include

  • Teaching graduate courses in the school psychology program
  • Courses may include those focused on assessment, mental health, prevention, school-based interventions, consultation, and applied research in school settings.  
  • Courses are online and on campus; on campus courses are offered in an intensive format (meets one day/week for 3 hours OR all day approximately 5 days each semester, including some Saturdays). Summer teaching of on campus intensive courses is available, with additional pay. Opportunity to teach undergraduate psychology courses may also be available.
  • Opportunity to develop new elective courses, for the school psychology program, in areas of interest or expertise is also a possibility. 
  • Providing university supervision to interns and practicum students, when needed. 
  • Academic advising of school psychology graduate students.
  • Performing service activities for psychology programs, the university, and the school psychology profession.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

  • EdS in School Psychology or PhD in School Psychology or related field
  • Experience working as a licensed/certified school psychologist.
  • Passionate about training new school psychologists across all domains of practice.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other program faculty in continuous improvement efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of university teaching excellence.
  • Experience across all domains of school psychology practice (assessment, consultation, tiered interventions targeting mental health and academics, school-wide practices, etc.).
  • Record of service to the profession.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $48,000 - $54,036 annually
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
