UC Berkeley Extension invites applications for a pool of qualified instructors to teach online courses in UX Design, UI Design, and UX Research.
Position Overview
Position title: Instructor (Non-Senate, Non-Tenure Track)
Salary range: The compensation model varies; for synchronous Live Online courses, $1,500 - $3,600 total per course; for asynchronous Fixed Date Online courses, $150 - $170 per enrolled student, totaling $1,200 - $3,400 per course.
Percent time: Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.
Anticipated start: Some appointments may begin as early as the spring semester.
Review timeline: Applicants are considered as needs arise; the pool remains for 9-12 months.
Position duration: Course length typically ranges from 6 to 12 weeks; further agreements based on needs and performance.

Position Description
UC Berkeley Extension serves professional and continuing education goals. Courses are offered online via Canvas or Zoom.
Course Subjects: User Experience and User Interface (UX-UI) Design (e.g., Accessibility in UX Design, Essentials of User Experience), User Research Methods (e.g., Qualitative User Research for UX).
General Duties: Develop syllabi, assignments, and lessons; utilize Canvas and other tools; grade assignments and respond to students promptly.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Additional qualifications: 5+ years of professional industry work experience or teaching experience; U.S. residency and work authorization required.
Preferred qualifications: Advanced degree in UX Design; experience in UX/UI fields; proficiency in tools like Figma; teaching experience.
