Instructor/Community Engagement Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma (Norman, Oklahoma)
The office of Student Life at the University of Oklahoma Norman Campus purpose is to guide students in realizing academic, professional, and personal goals as they progress toward graduation and beyond. The office is currently seeking a full-time Instructor/Community Engagement Coordinator who possesses substantive understanding of the university student experience and committed to building environments where all students are valued, respected, and provided opportunities to flourish in their pursuits.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, International Studies, or a closely related field.
Duties
- Teaching university First-Year Foundations (General Education) and/or Global Perspectives (General Education) courses to undergraduate students; preparing lesson plans, grading papers and exams, and mentoring and advising students.
- Serving as the direct advisor for departmental student organizations in Student Life.
- Planning and organizing various engagement, educational, and special events, seminars, conferences, recruitment activities, award banquets, and other student-related activities.
- Assisting in developing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain students at the University of Oklahoma.
- Broadly supporting registered student organizations and student involvement initiatives at the university; performing related duties as assigned.
