Intercollegiate Sports Coach
Teaches team concept intercollegiate sports (Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Cross Country, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse) to student athletes in an intercollegiate setting congruent with the college mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Willingly and actively enforces safety rules, procedures and regulations set forth by Mercer County Community College, Region 19 and the National Junior College Athletic Association;
- Teaches specific sport skills, strategy and incorporates leadership and life skills into training;
- Organizes and conducts games and tournaments;
- Keeps record of travel receipts and expenditures;
- Supervises student athlete team participants during practices, games and travel time;
- Supervises assistant coaches and other support personnel;
- Identifies and recruits academically qualified student athletes on a year round basis;
- Develops and implements practice plans and strategy for competition;
- Supervises student athlete academic progress and graduation transition;
- Maintains fiscal responsibility within an established budget.
Qualifications: Associates Degree (AA) and/or 2 years related experience/training; or a combination of education, coaching experience or professional experience; possess a valid driver's license. Bachelor's degree preferred.
