Intraop Mntrng Neuromonitorist - $15,000 SIGN ON BONUS- Pavilion
The Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity available to join the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring team. In this role, you will use state of the art equipment to protect patients by continuously monitoring the central and peripheral nervous system during surgery. Joining a highly qualified and diverse group, you will work closely with multiple disciplines to help improve patient outcomes through remarkable advances in IOM care.
Consistently perform high quality neurophysiological monitoring in the operating room to assess the functional integrity of the central and/or peripheral nervous system during neurosurgical, orthopaedic, and vascular procedures.
Utilize multi-modality monitoring including: somatosensory evoked potentials, electromyography, transcranial motor evoked potentials, electroencephalography, brainstem auditory evoked potentials, cranial nerve monitoring, electrocorticography, and nerve conduction studies to improve the quality of patient care by preventing iatrogenic injury.
Patient care assignment may include: pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.
Intraoperative Monitoring Neuromonitorist:
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (IONM) experience OR Bachelor's degree with a focus in IONM
Grad Non Cert Patient Care Professional:
- High school graduation with basic science coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Reasonable experience as an IOM Technologist is necessary.
- A certification by the American Board of Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologist as a CNIM is preferred OR working towards a CNIM. If an applicant is not CNIM, must obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.
- A bachelor's degree in the biological sciences is desirable.
In accordance with the UMMAP agreement, shift bidding will occur by seniority. The Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Unit provides support to various operating rooms around the clock, ensuring patients' neurological safety during surgery. Bidding will occur in congruence with the opening of The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion at University of Michigan Health.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
