IT Business Analyst

Grade 8: £49,119 – £58,265 including the Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per annum

Fixed-term (12 months), full time (37.5 hours per week)

Hybrid working – two days per week onsite (Park End Street, Oxford & Egrove Park, Kennington)

As IT Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the School’s digital delivery capability by establishing and embedding a dedicated business analysis function within the IT team. You will work closely with stakeholders, Project Managers and technical teams to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, understood and translated into effective technology solutions.

You will support a diverse portfolio of digital, AV and IT initiatives, contributing to requirements analysis, process mapping, feasibility assessment and benefits realisation. Working across PRINCE2, Agile and Scrum environments, you will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently, align with strategic priorities and deliver measurable value to the School.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a primary point of contact for business and system change requests
  • Leading requirements gathering, analysis and documentation using a range of techniques
  • Supporting IT Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery
  • Working with internal teams and external suppliers to support design, testing and implementation
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and maximising system effectiveness
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the School

You will bring proven experience in business analysis within complex organisations, with strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical skills. You will be comfortable translating business needs into clear technical requirements and working across multiple projects simultaneously. Experience of Agile and PRINCE2 environments is essential, along with a proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
