We are recruiting an IT Manager who can contribute to the development of strategic technical plans which deliver department wide change. You will need to be highly proactive, persuasive and enthusiastic and able to communicate effectively orally and in writing as well as Demonstrable experience of IT, leadership and management to succeed in this role.

About the job:
The role is based in a major infrastructural project, funded for £50m over years. The project is hosted within the University, which supplies IT services that need to be interfaced with NIHR Bioresource specific infrastructure. It is closely aligned to the design and delivery of services to enable the project's pursuit of its research goals, whilst providing team and programme leadership across the whole portfolio of IT service delivery to the project.
The role holder is responsible for the delivery of the IT vision of the project and managing its delivery through a team of IT professionals. Through a combination of project work and the delivery of day-to-day services, the role holder will ensure that IT creates the digital environment to enable the project to fulfil its goals in research, teaching and learning, as well as providing the tools to support the delivery of the project's administrative functions. This will include the provision and maintenance of appropriate secure environments utilising both private and public cloud environments to supplement University supplied services.

- Evidence of working at a strategic level in an organisation or department to create and deliver department wide change
- Strong ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to develop and maintain their own knowledge in their field

This appointment is full-time, 37 hours per week; part-time to 80% will be considered. Work - life balance is important, and we are open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working.
The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2028 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4-year funding cycle.
Our offices are on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus CB2 0QQ (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
